What if social media did not exist? Could we really enjoy life? Or would we be bored with our time? Could we be so social then? or would we even be? Is being social “in person” hard… Could we hold an intelligent conversation or even a conversation at all? Social media is really blocking us from enjoying our present life. We can not make memories if we sit and stroll through our phone to see what the next person is doing. We can not learn about our partners if we are always in our phones. I personally don’t like social media because I enjoy being social in person, laughing, talking, and joking like normal humans. I love to meet people who share that same interest also.
If I am living in the moment, nothing can keep me from that, not my phone, laptop, or ipad. Don’t get me wrong I do have a social media, but for marketing and of course keeping up with current events. I personally think social media is slowing us down and hinder us from our own lives. Just think about it, walk into a waiting room or wherever, majority of people will be strolling through their phones, and not even paying attention to the person they are with or their surroundings. Thin about this, when was the last time you really enjoyed your day? No, like really enjoy it.. the air, trees, sun, flowers, enjoying that moment. When the last time you had a full conversation with someone without strolling through your phone while they are talking? I may be different. Maybe its just me that knows how to enjoy life without my phone. I am a person that loves to read, write, and learn. And if I am not getting that from social media, I can not waste me time or energy on it 99% of my day. Challenge yourself for a day not to pick up your phone to stroll through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat and see how great your day can be.
